Iwasaki Kenjiro Shoten is said to have started its history as a harness store in 1897. He set up shop in Furumachi (Furukawa-cho), where many merchants and craftsmen lived, and manufactured and repaired harness sabers and scabbards. In 1953 (Showa 28), Kumamoto was damaged by the great flood (June 26 flood), and there are no materials left, but in the early Showa period, around the time of the second owner, he set up a store in Kamitori and started carrying bags. I heard that he used to run a shop.
Currently, we have three pillars: the school bag business, the interior business, and the overseas product development business. Through the handling of rattan products, we are working with sustainable activity goals SDGs to save poor families in Indonesia as much as possible.
From now on, we will add a new pillar called "Mariwa" to the three pillars, and we will push forward with the goal of prospering Kamitori and disseminating Kumamoto's food culture.

2 Promote social activities such as the environment, regional revitalization, declining birthrate and aging population, welfare, and lifelong education as ongoing business activities. It is considered promising as an activity that will lead to self-reliant development of the region and job creation.
